NAFTA TN Visa Status

TN Visa – Range Manager / Range Conservationist

NAFTA Requirements for TN Visa as a Range Manager / Range Conservationist.

To qualify for TN visa status under NAFTA as a Range Manager or Range Conservationist, an applicant must possess one of the following:

  1. A Bachelor’s (Baccalaureate) degree; or
  1. Licenciatura Degree.

See 8 C.F.R. § 214.6 (c).

Additional Guidance:

A legacy INS manual provides that Range Managers "manage, improve, and protect rangelands to maximmize their use without damaging the enviornment." NAFTA Handbook (1999). According to this manual, a Bachelor’s (Baccalaureate) degree or Licenciatura degree in forestry or a related field or a state or provincial license is the minimum entry requirement for this occupation. Id.

However, it's likely that this latter sentence only refers to the Forester occupation as the U.S. immigration regulations do not list a state or provincial license as one of the credentials that would qualify an individual for TN status as a Range Manager.
