TN Visa – Physiotherapist / Physical Therapist
NAFTA Requirements for TN Visa as a Physiotherapist / Physical Therapist.
To qualify for TN visa status under NAFTA as a Physiotherapist / Physical Therapist, an applicant must possess one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Licenciatura Degree; or
- State / provincial license.
The term “state/provincial license” is defined as “any document issued by a state, provincial, or federal government, as the case may be, or under its authority, but not by a local government, that permits a person to engage in a regulated activity or profession.” See 8 C.F.R. § 214.6 (c) and n.2.
Health Care Worker Certificate (Visa Screen) Requirement.
Individuals applying for TN visa status under the Physiotherapist / Physical Therapist category may have to obtain a Health Care Worker (Visa Screen) certificate before they are able to obtain TN visa status.
