TN Visa - Forester
NAFTA Requirements for TN Visa as a Forester.
To qualify for TN status under NAFTA as a Forester, an applicant must possess one of the following:
A Bachelor’s (Baccalaureate) degree;
Licenciatura Degree; or
State / Provincial license.
The term “state/provincial license” means “any document issued by a state, provincial, or federal government, as the case may be, or under its authority, but not by a local government, that permits a person to engage in a regulated activity or profession.” 8 C.F.R. § 214.6 (c) n.2.
Additional Guidance:
A legacy INS manual provides that foresters "plan and supervise the growing, protection, and harvesting of trees." NAFTA Handbook (1999). According to this manual, a Bachelor’s (Baccalaureate) degree or Licenciatura degree in forestry or a related field or a state or provincial license is the minimum entry requirement for this occupation. Id.
