TN Visa - Forester
NAFTA Requirements for TN Visa as a Forester.
To qualify for TN status under NAFTA as a Forester, an applicant must possess one of the following:
- A Bachelor’s (Baccalaureate) degree;
- Licenciatura Degree; or
- State / Provincial license.
The term “state/provincial license” means “any document issued by a state, provincial, or federal government, as the case may be, or under its authority, but not by a local government, that permits a person to engage in a regulated activity or profession.” 8 C.F.R. § 214.6 (c) n.2.
Additional Guidance:
A legacy INS manual provides that foresters "plan and supervise the growing, protection, and harvesting of trees." NAFTA Handbook (1999). According to this manual,a Bachelor’s (Baccalaureate) degree or Licenciatura degree in forestry or a related field or a state or provincial license is the minimum entry requirement for this occupation. Id.
