The Embassy of the United States in Mexico City provides a sample TN visa employer support letter along with additional information for citizens of Mexico seeking to apply for a TN visa at the Embassy. The sample TN visa letter is copied below:

As an employer in an "at will state," California, I do not wish to put the expected length of employment. If I state three years, and then the sponsored employee is laid off after one year, it could create a liability for my company. Would the TN visa be denied, or only be approved for one year if I don't state the duration of employment?
